Project Purpose
   To develop recommendations aimed at:

  • Improving traffic flow
  • Expanding parking
  • Enhancing safety for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists
  • Coordinating all modes of transportation
Troy is a vibrant small town. But we’re not so small anymore—Troy is becoming a hub for wind energy development and Marcellus Shale natural gas activities, and our roadways such as U.S. 6 and PA 14 have evolved into major freight corridors. Traffic is getting heavier, there are more backups at intersections, and it’s harder to find a place to park. Riding a bicycle, walking, or taking public transit are not always easy or convenient.

Before these issues become major concerns, the borough is undertaking a study to identify and prioritize transportation improvements. The Troy Mobility Plan will consider how transportation projects and policies can support economic and community development, in addition to safety and mobility
