STUDY PROCESS
The study process begins with collecting and analyzing hard data, such as traffic volumes and accident rates, assessing the condition and function of the existing transportation system, and listening to the concerns and ideas of those of us who use Troy’s transportation system every day.
Next the study team will develop draft recommendations for how Troy can best enhance transportation within realistic funding levels. The recommendations will be discussed and refined with borough council members and PennDOT officials.
The public has the opportunity to weigh in on the recommendations by completing a survey on this web site. Special outreach to students and seniors is also planned. Issues and ideas raised by the public will be discussed with the Steering Committee and the recommendations will be revised appropriately.
The Final Report is slated for completion this summer and will be posted on this site. It will include an implementation plan with the final list of recommendations prioritized into near-, mid-, and long-term initiatives. The plan will include specific actions to help achieve the recommendations, potential funding sources, and a list of partner entities who should be involved in implementation .
